A part of supposedly one of the oldest existing cities in the world, New Delhi is an ultimate destination for those seeking mind-altering experiences. With almost an endless supply of interesting sites, this city offers more than just what meets the eye.
From intimate temples to impressive promenades, from ancient ruins to 20th-century constructions, and from Metros to rickshaws – New Delhi is a city of strong contrasts and a true microcosm of Indian culture and history.
Step through the Lahore Gate and explore the Red Fort, a famous red sandstone building with marble halls and gardens filled with streams and fountains. Or admire stunning Humayun’s Tomb, which has been described as the predecessor of the great Taj Mahal.
But Delhi is not only about historic monuments, it’s also about thriving shopping and delicious cuisine! Its colourful and busy bazaars and super-modern malls are every shopper’s dream. Don’t miss the opportunity to try the best street food in the whole of India!
The modern Indira Gandhi International Airport lies to the west of the city, a short ride from major places of interest. With over 350 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your New Delhi adventure.
Don’t come. From April to September Delhi is living hell.. temperature wise. The whole year it’s cacophonous and people do not have any sense of cleanliness, discipline, respect for rules, humility and courtesy…
Just avoid… I was born here, studies here but after travelling around the world, I would not recommend anyone to come to Delhi in these times.

New Delhi is a most wonderful experience, especially for those of us who are able to practice ignorance of the human struggle amongst the 3rd world nation standard of living.
For my personal journey, it was the equivalent of being dropped off by a helicopter in an (Urban) jungle and trying to survive without quitting or ringing the DOR bell.

This is completely fraud hotel..
This is completely fraud hotel..
First of all when I was checking in the front desk person was asking me extra charges for 2 hour early check in though I had communicated that my train will arrive in the morning 7, after so much of heated discussion he agreed to remove any early checkin charges.
There was no lyft/elevator in the hotel, rooms were in the very bad shape no water, no geezer in the room moreover they did not provide me towels and shops.
After I complained he shifted me in the different room there also no hot water and toilet flush was not working.
The staff was not cooperative and room service bot broke my luggage. I had to spent INR 3000 to fix it.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was so fascinating to see an effective government transport system. Most people are hospital and willing to assist you in terms of location, and transport system. However, some areas of the city are very dirty, and some people do not appreciate the little you give them.

I have lived in New Delhi for ten months and I loved it.
I have lived in New Delhi for ten months and I loved it. The best time to come in the city is between November and April I think. Although January and February can be really cold !
One of my favorite place is Old Delhi, it's vibrant and crowded : the india i imagined ! You can avoid the Red Fort and just have a walk through the neighborhood, visit Jama Masjid, eat jalebi and kulfi.
You have to try the dosa and the chole bhature, i love the one at Lajpat Nagar market.
To get around, you can use Uber or the metro which is very usefull, easy and cheap.
If you have a short stay, skip the Lotus Temple and Connaught Place.
You should visit Akshardham which is very impressive, the detour worth it !
For your shopping, you can go to Lajpat Nagar Market, Sarojini Nagar Market, Karol Bagh Market.

Primary goal of the visit was to obtain visa to travel abroad. So, planned a 3-day stay only - of which 1.5 days went away in visa related activities. It was really hot weather. Stayed at Connaught Place - I felt its not worth the hype. But loved New Delhi overall. We saw very few places - Qutub Minar (night), India Gate (night), Red Fort (day). All were worth the visit. Lots more to see. Metro service is excellent. We do plan to visit again - but in a cooler climate.
The Hotel is beautiful and comfortable and it’s in the real centre of New Delhi life! The staff is amazing and Asif, the hotel manager, is the perfect host ready to suggest the best to live in India, always available and very kind.
I finally recommend this hotel for your visit in Delhi.
Such a nice service and nice hotel I've never seen in my life, I booked a family ac room for a night. the room was nice and large with two double beds. any one needing a place to stay near airport with family its the best option
