The room was so beautifully decorated. The lighting was very cozy, and there was more than enough space for all our luggage and additional bags as well.
We also had more than enough space in the room to store/eat food from the nearby convenience store or just relax in the room.
Location is also quite convenient. It's super close to Nishiki Market, Shinkyogoku shopping street, Kamo river, and the surrounding restaurant areas. There's also a bus stop and several convenience stores within a short walking distance. Good location to stay in if you're visiting anywhere on the Keihan line (incl Fushimi Inari Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera).
The staff were also very friendly and helpful, especially with organising takkyubin (luggage delivery) for us.
Considering it's so close to the main road, the room was surprisingly quiet on the first night (weekday). There was a bit of noise from a nearby karaoke on the second night (Friday) which didn't really bother us though - if you're a light sleeper maybe check which days you stay here!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Extremely close to Kyoto station yet far enough for it to be quiet. The breakfast was extensive, welcome drinks every night and generally well laid out social areas make this a great hotel.

Just got back from the most amazing trip to Japan with my bestie, and I had to rave about it! We booked everything through Booking.com, and it made planning a breeze - seriously, their selection of hotels in different cities was awesome.
Now, about Japan itself... WOW! We felt totally safe the entire time, which is a huge deal for two girls traveling alone. Plus, Japan is a foodie heaven! We ate our way through the whole trip, and everything was just incredible - so fresh and beautifully presented.
But the real star of the show (at least for me) was the matcha. Matcha lattes, matcha desserts, even some crazy matcha-infused savory dishes - if you're a matcha lover, Japan is the promised land!
Seriously, this trip was unforgettable. We can't wait to go back and explore more. Booking.com definitely gets a thumbs up for helping us put it all together.

The Golden Temple, Bamboo Forest and the Gion Geisha walk...
The Golden Temple, Bamboo Forest and the Gion Geisha walk were simply amazing.
I should have stayed and explored Kyoto a lot more, perhaps gone to Osaka from there, or further down to see the Hemiji castle rather than hurrying back to Tokyo. There is so much more culture to experience in Kyoto. Even the largest statue of The Sleeping Buddha in the world located in Fukuoka was an aesthetic treat.
Choose the hotels around the train station-all within stone's throw, neat clean and very affordable.
Vegetarian food is a bit of a problem, so make sure you check what you eat if you are one : ).

Kyoto is the old capital and very historical city in Japan.
Kyoto is the old capital and very historical city in Japan. It still has working Geisha area centred in a beautiful old part of the city; and also a fabulous castle, imperial palace and many shrines and temples giving a total of 17 world heritage sites. It is easily reachable from Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet train) taking about 2.5 hrs and is a must see for any trip to Japan. Take a walking tour around the old part (Gion area)

I loved the Bamboo Forest, the Gion district, the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the golden shrine and just about every place I visited. Many people don't realize they can get a good view and have a great meal at the top of Tokyo Station. No need to pay to go to the Top of the Tower.

We loved Kyoto.
We loved Kyoto. I we stayed 4 nights and it was the right number of days. The city has a good vibe and we really enjoyed exploring the temples and districts. The market is also very entertaining. Outside of Kyoto we really enjoyed the Nara Park
The room was very comfortable. The hotel itself is very well located really close to the train station (only a 5 minute walk). The facilities were amazing and it was so nice to be able to come back to the hotel after walking around Kyoto and use the onsen even late at night. The hotel offers free ice-cream, coffees, and even ramen. If you're staying, make sure to book the breakfast. It's probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever eaten, and has so much choice
We didn take tbe breakfast but really enjoyed the free drinks and nibbles at night and enjoyed meeting other guests there. Coffee cake and chocolate as well as wide range of alcoholic and not drinks. A true luxury hotel in all aspects. So close to metro infact next door to it. Higashiyama station that takes you to city and easy access Nara via JR line interchange so no need tour there. We did other tours though of Gion and Sagano train.
Such a cool arty hotel without being painfully hipsterish (🙄) great location one stop south of Kyoto station but walkable without too much luggage. Staff were friendly and breakfast was absolutely FANTASTIC the best I had in Japan. Quiet and understated with laid back vibe cool longer and bar. A few eateries nearby and and a supermarket (15 mins) but 7/11 and Lawson nearer. Would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend
Absolutely everything!!! This was by far the best hotel we stayed at in all of Japan (from Tokyo, to Osaka, and Kyoto).
Extremely comfy bed, futuristic facilities, stunning premises, fantastic location (in Gion district!), surrounded by the most incredible restaurants (built into people's homes!)
The best part about this hotel is the location. Essentially across the road from the main train station and close to lots of convenience stores. Good base for your plans in Kyoto. Good sized room.
