I loved everything about Newport - except the hotel I stayed in. I loved its greenness, I loved its Victorian homes, its beautiful intimate beaches. Loved seeing it’s over-the-top mansions built by movers and shakers of yore.

Beautiful and friendly town.
Beautiful and friendly town. We went the week leading up to Memorial Day and it was a great time because the crowds were low. Took a trolley tour with Viking and the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He said cruise boats come in September and it gets very crowded. Parking can be a pain and is expensive. Lots of great seafood places to eat. Went to Mystic, CT one day. Can easily do everything in Newport in 2 days. Some of the mansions didn't open until June 2nd, but we saw The Breakers, Marble House and Rosecliff. Highly recommend getting dinner reservations a couple of weeks early (White Horse Tavern, The Mooring, Brick and Alley Pub). Ate at the Newport Lobster Shake and watched the fisherman bring in their catch of the day. Also recommend Anthoy's Seafood in Middletown.

The trolly tour was fantastic and Rob gave us several tips.
The trolly tour was fantastic and Rob gave us several tips. Enjoyed visiting the Breaker Mansion, the cliff walk, Easton Beach. Celebrated our Anniversary dinner at the White Horse Tavern and had an amazing meal! Lots of shops and food places on Thames St near where we stayed at the Harborside Inn. Some places are hard to park so better to walk if possible. Overall great 3 day visit to Newport!

The cutest small town any time of year.
The cutest small town any time of year. I've been in the summer when people fill the beaches and streets, and I've been in the winter when the buildings are decorated with lights and everyone hangs ornaments on a Christmas tree on the beach. Lots of places to walk and explore both along the water and inland, many historical and beautiful buildings to tour, vineyards and beaches to spend your time, and wonderful places to stay.

We loved it all, but especially the Red Parrot and Moorings where we had great food. Ma's Donuts on the outskirts of the town was excellent too, if no good for the waistline. Travel in town is easy out of season. We walked a lot and when driving easily found parking for free.

I only go to Newport for the Chowderfest in the spring and the seafood fest in the fall and it is a great place to hang out. So many great restaurants like the Black Pearl and Midtown Oyster Bar to name a couple...
The outdoor space was nice, the bedroom needed another chair, breakfast was delicious but we are sorely disappointed in the “new” look.
When this location was still the Adele Turner we loved the original charm and ambience. It feels more clinical now and we don’t understand why corporations buy these beautiful historic homes and rip out all the charm. The best part about Serenity Inn was our hostess Zamantha. She was very personable and helpful with suggestions of places to go around Newport. She’s your best asset here.
The location of this hotel is perfect providing easy access to Marinas and boats. It has a very lovely grassy area on the water with hammocks and plenty of chairs to enjoy the sunset. It has a pool which was refreshing.
