The room, location, and staff were great. The parking was a problem for us. If you don’t pay $21 for private parking per day, you have to hunt around in three other lots to find a parking place. We eventually just paid for the private parking and that solved the problem.

There are a lot of pros and cons.
There are a lot of pros and cons. The best part of this experience was the staff. Super friendly, kind, and hard working people. As for the hotel, things in the rooms are broken, old, not really functioning properly. Horrible paint job throughout the hotel, lamps not working properly, tiny teenie balconies, the pool is an indoor pool with very loud music playing, plus the screaming of small children, it was a bit hard to really unwind. The hotel is directly on the beach, which is nice. The location is the best thing about it. It's sort of advertised as a resort but that's really a stretch. It does have a spa, with very capable massage therapists which we also experienced. The entryway does not match the rest of the hotel. The entry way looks updated, classic and elegant. Unfortunately, it all goes downhill from there. The elevators take forever to get to your floor. The parking situation is horrible. The tightest garage, spaces, and turns from floor to floor. You should not get anxiety trying to find a parking space! There is no housekeeping unless you request it. On one of the nights, we needed more toilet paper, we had to call down twice to have someone bring it to us. That should never be a call you need to make twice in a "resort". The location is great, close to a movie theater, groceries, great restaurants.

We loved the beach more than anything and spent almost all day every day on the beach! Especially because it was so easy to pack up our towels, chairs, blankets, etc. at the end of the day and drop them off at our car right at the edge of the boardwalk. We truly loved dining at Fish Tales as we ate there a couple of times and the service and food were really good. Also, enjoyed breakfast at Happy Jack's. Tram is a waste of time. Tried 4 times to get on.
Tram is a waste of time. Tried 4 times to get on. Walked the length of the boardwalk. Asked at the information desk where to get on. He said the playground. Flagged down the tram at the playground. Wouldn't stop. Waved me off and said as he passed ,"not here". Ended up walking the entire boardwalk back. Stops are not clearly marked and drivers are pretty rude.

The beach is always going to be a pleasant and relaxing experience, but for mermaids used to tropical waters, this beach is not it. The water was freezing and dark. Despite not being able to swim like I was hoping to, it was still a nice time. Not really a beach I see myself returning to- I’d rather head a little more south for warmer waters.
