Oxford Street
Stretching out for a mile and a half, you can pretty much buy anything under the sun on Europe’s busiest shopping street. Big British shopping institutions like Primark, John Lewis and Selfridges stock most of it, while the smaller shops toward Tottenham Court Road can still turn up the odd gem if you keep your eyes peeled.

The whole world is here.
The whole world is here. I love the busy nature of this street. If you are the type that travel with family, please make a budget first. After my first day with my family, many years when the children were young, I learnt through the hard way. Unlimited spending affected my budget. please don't carry the family to this street without budget.

Oxford Street doesn't have a great reputation among natives of London. However, in the 1980s I would go there to shop at Selfridges for clothes. That's a classy department store and worth a visit.

I love Oxford street, so much to do and see. My only tip is- If you don't like the rush hours like me, try going there early (very early) in the morning. Oxford as become so so crowded that it's not comfortable walking there

Don't bother!
Don't bother! Over rated tourist trap full of brands you can find on your high street , tat shops and sweet emporia. A real drop in standards and choice from what the old shopping area used to be.

Some buildings are very nice in this buildings and are really good great historical value, some are hardly maintained or never maintained. The good thing is that there is variety of shops in this street for all budgets . They down side is it doesn’t feel safe, the road is relatively narrow ( British standard) and it’s over packed with tourists and obviously lots of mugging going on, I’ve heard of one when I was there for two hours only.

The staff were really friendly and very helpful, check-in was very easy and check-out and no questioning in storing our luggage for the afternoon. We didn't have breakfast. The hotel was the perfect location to Hyde Park, for the concert we had come to see and perfect walking distance to Oxford Street.
I really liked the location, it is close to University College London, restaurants, cafés, Oxford Street, Chinatown and there is a Bus stop directly in front of hotel door and 2 underground stations nearby ( Warren Street and Euston Square)
Friendly staff and location to reach main areas excellent. 10 minutes walk to Oxford street, Marble Arch and Hyde park. No frills hotel, you get what you pay for, which was a fraction of some hotels. That being said it was clean, beds made daily and tea and coffee facilities. We didn't go to London to stray in our room so it worked for us.
The apartment is located in a wonderful area and so close to everything without it being crammed by people or buzzing noises. Being able to crawl home with the kids after a long day in Hyde park or Oxford Street to this cozy little haven was Wonderful. We all slept like babies.
Friendly and efficient staff, comfortable beds, air con that worked and was quiet, location close to Hyde Park and Oxford Street however not noisy.
Hotel overall was very clean
Great apart-hotel in a great location in Central London. The famous Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery are in 3 minutes walk. The Big Ben, the Westminster Abbey, the theaters of Covent Garden, the Piccadilly Circus and Oxford street are in 10-15 minutes walk. Charing Cross and Embankment underground stations are in 2 minutes walk. The room was spacious and clean. The bed is really comfortable. The kitchenette was really good: hob, microwave, pots, plates, bowls, cutlery, dishwasher. The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel was spotless clean, staff very friendly. The room was ideal for what was needed, clean tidy, beds made every day.
Fantastic location for Oxford street, Hyde Park and lovely 35 min walk to Buckingham palace. Lovely coffee shop across the road for morning coffee. Great value and would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely stunning . The balcony was amazing , so were the amenities in the apartment. Close to tube and what a beautiful vibe the house had. Safe for a women solo traveller. Nice neighbourhood. Bus stop is like 50 meters from the home. Market is 10 mins walk . Kilburn tube station is 7 min walk. Will stay again. Very well connected to central London . Bus 98 does to Oxford street and is very frequent. Brilliant place by all means. Can improve on communication while checking in.

If you want to do some shopping, but want to avoid the crowds, you should stay away from Oxford Street and Portobelle Road on Saturdays. Take a trip to some of the boroughs outside the city's centre and discover the local atmosphere. Ask someone in a shop or the staff at your hotel, if you need a few suggestions for a good day out away from the crowds. I usually ask them where they go for a day out.

Avoid the busiest shopping/tourist areas (there is much more to London than Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square)
