Location was great. Just a few blocks from the craziness of Bourbon St. Also beside green street car to Garden district and Hop on Hop off bus.
What made the holiday were the staff. From check in, we were warmly welcomed and that hospitality lasted throughout our stay. Every one of thier staff members would bend over backwards to accommodate you or just say hello when passing. It was truly exceptional. From Patrick at breakfast to Renaldo at reception, they always had time for us. I have stayed in top 5 star hotels that have not managed that level of hospitality.
The drinks and evening snacks where of a very high standard, as was the breakfast. We were on a 3 week tour of different US States and staying in 6 different hotels, this was by far our favourite.

A great location (walk to everything) with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Our room was on the pet floor, and there was a barking dog during the day. Since I had booked an extremely good d4eal online, I was Ok with this. The dog was quiet in evenings once owners returned.
The room was beautiful.

The Salon tea service was delightful and a wonderful experience away from the standard New Orleans. The room was perfect for our family of 5 - large, comfortable, and yet cozy at the same time. We thoroughly enjoyed valeting our car and not needing to use it again until we checked out - the location can't be beat.

Lovely staff at the reception and at the restaurant. Beautiful design throughout. It's within 20 min walk from the French Quarter which proved to be perfect - as the Bourbon st area is way too rowdy to stay at.
There were plenty of great cafes and restaurants right next to the hotel, and their "neighbours" website page is a very helpful shortlist of places nearby.

Bourbon Street is for sure an interesting place, and it is also extremely crowded and noisy. I am not sure how anybody can keep up a normal conversation while walking down the street. There are basically all types of music played, maybe 4 or 5, individuals or group, on both sides of a the same sidewalk.
Also just about everybody warns tourists of unsafe the street is as soon as the sun is down--which in winter means past 5PM. We did not experience , nor did we see/witness any criminal activity, though. Police is there too, watching, on street corners.

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA, especially children that are still in strollers, do not take a child's stroller to Bourbon street, especially at night. I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but rather really not appropriate for kids to be on Bourbon street and there is often very loud music playing from the bars and street performers that might be tough on little ears. Plus, there are usually some people that are very intoxicated walking around and do you want that around your child(ren)?

This is my second time here on Bourbon St first time was in the mid of the pandemic. The second time was nothing like the first time. There was so many people having a good time drinking dancing and just talking loud. I loved every minute of it

Although the French Quarter is interesting, Bourbon Street is a mess. It is dirty and smells terrible and worse than many of the Third World Countries I have visited. Even a police officer I talked to recommended avoiding Bourbon Street.
The French Quarter has some of the best food I have ever eaten and street performers are great but stay away from Bourbon Street.

It’s good to walk along there and people watch, it’s mainly drunk tourists but fun to watch the guys working on the street trying to hustle as well, there’s some real characters. Plenty more great places to visit in the city though

Great hotel in the very center of French Quarter, just few steps from Bourbon street. Thanks to it's great location it is near the center "of the party" but quite enough to have good night sleep! Highly recommend!
Nice stylish hotel in a quiet area but within walking distance of Jackson Square and Bourbon Street. Comfortable room. All the staff we had interaction with were very pleasant and helpful. Nice having a bar on site too. Although we didn't use it the pool area looks nice.
- good location to canal street and to bourbon street
- apartment was large
- good for families
- tvs in rooms were helpful
- kitchen amenities were excellent
Nice apartment but just wasn't as nice as we expected. Brilliant location - only a 10 minute walk to Bourbon Street, and there's a streetcar right outside the building. Great walk-in wardrobe too.
My stay at the Olivier House Hotel was a delightful immersion into New Orleans' charm. The historic ambiance, complemented by cozy rooms adorned with antiques, provided a unique and comfortable retreat. The location near Bourbon Street and Jackson Square was perfect for exploring the city's cultural delights. The staff's warm hospitality made my visit memorable, ensuring I felt welcome and well cared for throughout my stay.
The location was fantastic - five minute walk to Bourbon Street, and felt safe (enough - there’s dodgy people everywhere in New Orleans but we felt safe enough to walk to and from the apartment).
Friendly helpful reception staff. Gave us relatively quiet room as we had requested (noting that the hotel is half a block from Bourbon Street so was always going to get some noise).
Had a lovely courtyard, it's own nice bar, it's own jazz club around the corner! and a good breakfast room with reasonably priced breakfast option. Room was large and comfortable and clean.
The hotel was at a good location. Close to Bourbon Street but far enough to be in a quiet part of town. Everything was in walking distance (Washington Square, city centre, Bourbon Street, Armstrong Park). The valet boys were very friendly. The rest of the staff was also friendly. They helped when they good. The room was very big (we had 1 king bed) and very clean. We were in room 200. Would definitely stay again.
I don’t think we could have chosen better location. Three blocks from the Bourbon Street this hotel provides excellent base for exploring French Quarter or Garden District by the St. Charles streetcar. In the very city center it provides a quiet shelter from the hassle of Bourbon street. Highly recommended.
The beds are very comfortable, air con is quiet and the room was clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, it was only a short walk to Bourbon Street. Great selection of good eateries close by. We would recommend this Hotel.

What guests said about Bourbon Street:
If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough.
If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough. Find restaurants off the beaten track and at different times than are typical eating times. Avoid Bourbon street at night on the weekend, more of a crowd drinking scene anyway so if crowds aren't your thing, not really where you should be looking. The fact is that it is a popular place so it is tough to miss people, but strike out on your own and explore and there are some great things to see.

So many options to listen and enjoy music, not only on Bourbon Street but throughout the French Quarters and adjacent areas. Big plus is that for most places its free entry, so you can just go and enjoy the music without having to spend much money.
