This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Definitely worth its money. We had an amazing room with a stunning view, it was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I would love to stay there again.

Chateau Marmont, hotel in Los Angeles

Located in Hollywood, California, this boutique hotel modeled after a castle features a heated outdoor pool surrounded by gardens.

I’m not personally a fan of LA, so Chateau Marmont is a very quiet, and extremely private place to stay, with a somewhat colourful history. I last stayed there in the 90s, and thankfully it’s retained its exclusivity, discretion, and mystique. At a price, of course.

Hilton Los Angeles-Universal City, hotel in Los Angeles

Located 5 minutes’ walk from the Universal Studios Hollywood entrance, this hotel offers a multi-lingual staff and contemporary rooms. Guests can unwind in the outdoor pool and hot tub.

The only good points were: Proximity to Universal Studios - though this is deceptive as the the walking route is very indirect and convoluted (it couldn’t have been planned any worse) and is a little hilly. Manageable but not an easy stroll. Kids enjoyed the small pool, and the pool was open until midnight. There was table tennis, futsal and corn hole there also. Filtered water refills in the lobby

Such a fun place every time I go!

Such a fun place every time I go! I recommend getting the ticket with the one-time fast pass per attraction if you can. We arrived at opening time and were able to finish every attraction by 5pm on a Saturday. It was definitely busy, so it helped a lot. The new Jurassic World ride was amazing! Looking forward to coming back again in a few years.

Mario Kart was definitely not worth the 2.5 hour wait (even though the posted wait time was 90 minutes). The rest of the park was fun and wait times weren’t bad. If you’ve been to Universal Orlando, just know Universal Hollywood is nowhere near as big and cool. However, the views and weather in Hollywood was amazing.

Amazing, I highly recommend paying extra so you don’t have to wait in line for the attractions. Some of the wait times were over an hour, my group walk straight though and we got to go on all the rides and see all the attractions in a day.

Quieter in the week. Towards the end of the day we were able to ride harry potter numerous times without getting off. Dont worry about getting wet on the jurassic ride, you dry in the heat immediately.

There is an app you can download to book slots on rides when it’s busy. Do it! We last went during Easter holidays and we didn’t get to go on a lot of rides as they were all sold out/pre booked on app. It was the busiest I’d ever seen it and I’ve been several times. Our favourite ride is the minions one but the new Supermario world is a really cool addition. The price for a band to get to unlock some of the areas is an extra $42 or $43 which I thought was excessive on top of park entry fee and food/snacks etc. The studio tour is a must do.
