Discover the Activity Book “Story of a t-shirt” by food hero Matteo Ward

Did you know that a t-shirt is made from the same resources needed to make a loaf of bread, like soil, water, air, energy, and people’s work? Sustainable fashion is an important issue, and raising awareness about it can help us make better choices.

Matteo Ward – advocate for sustainable fashion and World Food Day food hero – has contributed to designing a children Activity Book called “Story of a t-shirt”. This book tells the tale of a t-shirt named Celestina, who finds herself alone in a landfill in another part of the world and needs to find her parents. Children can join Celestina's journey by exploring the long supply chain to learn how she became a t-shirt.

Through this engaging story, kids will understand the value of what we wear, just as much as the value of what we eat and drink every day. Learn from Matteo how even a small hole doesn’t mean clothes should be thrown away and explore how to recycle, reuse, and upcycle old clothes with Celestina.
