New traders move into Great Yarmouth town centre units

Two established businesses moved to larger units in Market Place and a new trader has opened up shop inside a former hair salon.

Swapping a market stall for a fully-fledged restaurant, Ginger Kitchen moved inside the former Pando restaurant  three weeks ago.

"We were getting really busy at the market, especially with our deliveries," she said. "And this place became available, so we jumped at the chance."

"It's been great to add an evening menu with gourmet burgers, English and Polish food, and Sunday roasts as well."

Ms Zielinska said Ginger Kitchen has been busy during lunchtimes and the word is getting out about their later opening hours.

BeActive Mobility has opened a branch on Market Place. (Image: James Weeds) BeActive Mobility has opened a new unit inside the former butcher shop on the corner of Market Place, adding to its branches in Cobholm, Lowestoft and Norwich.

Store manager John Cramer said moving to the town centre has been "brilliant".

"We should have done this years ago," he said.

"We can't fault it at all."

Mobility scooters lined up inside BeActive Mobility in Great Yarmouth. (Image: James Weeds) Inside the old Hair for Men salon on Broad Row, Yellow House opened at the start of the week, selling second-hand and new clothing at discounted prices.

Owner Simona Udreniene said despite the area's reported decline in footfall, her first week has been steady.

"It's been very good," she said. "We get a wave of business, then it stops, and then another wave. There's a lot of people walking about.

"It seems busier than it used to be."
