RCB beat rivals Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs to record their sixth consecutive victory, snatch the fourth spot and thus complete the remarkable comeback. (PTI)

RCB were put to bat first after CSK won the toss. Their innings was briefly interrupted by rain after three overs, at which point VIrat Kohli and Faf du Plessis had put up an opening stand of 31 runs. That increased to 78 off 58 balls despite CSK exploiting the conditions by throwing spinners at the pair after resumption. The opening stand ended with Kohli falling on 47 off 29 balls. (AFP)

Du Plessis then shared a 35-run stand off 20 balls with Rajat Patidar. The RCB captain fell after scoring 54 off 39 balls in a rather freakish run out at the non-striker's end. (AFP)

Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar then blazed 71 runs for the third wicket in just 28 balls, While Green remained unbeaten on 38 off 17, Patidar fell on 41 off 23. Dinesh Karthik them smashed 14 off six balls while Glenn Maxwell scored 16 in five balls to help RCB record a score of 218/5 in 20 overs.
