Gautam Adani's 2024 salary: 8 key things to know

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani, the second richest person in India, drew an enormous salary for the financial year ending March 31, 2024.

Gautam Adani drew a salary of 9.26 crore for FY2024. Annual reports of the 10 listed entities of the group showed that he drew his salary from only two out of the 10 companies in his ports-to-energy conglomerate.

The 62-year-old billionaire's remuneration from the group's flagship firm Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) included 2.19 crore salary and perquisites, allowances and other benefits worth 27 lakh.

According to AEL's 2023-24 annual report, Adani's total remuneration stood up to 2.46 crore which was 3 per cent more than previous financial year.

Besides this, the businessman drew a salary of 6.8 crore from Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd (APSEZ).

Adani's remuneration is lower than telecom czar Sunil Bharti Mittal's ( 16.7 crores in 2022-23), Rajiv Bajaj's ( 53.7 crores), Pawan Munjal's ( 80 crores), L&T Chairman S N Subrahmanyan's and Infosys CEO Salil S Parekh's annual remuneration.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Gautam Adani is currently worth USD 106 billion.

The Adani group chief became the richest man in Asia in 2022, but his net worth plunged after a US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research alleged financial irregularities in his firm.
