India vs Pakistan World Cup: Virat Kohli confirmed as opener, Rishabh Pant as No.3

The much-awaited T20 World Cup India vs Pakistan match will take place at 8 pm today at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

Virat Kohli is set to open the match with skipper Rohit Sharma.

Earlier, Virat Kohli was dismissed for 1 off 5 balls in India's Group A match against Ireland.

Players like Shivam Dube and Rishabh Pant are set to acquire a better position in the middle order.

Rishabh Pant is confirmed as India's No.3. He scored an unbeaten 36 off 26 balls to help India seal an easy win in the previous match.

Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid considered Pant an option at No.3 as the keeper-batter was sent in the warm-up match against Bangladesh.

India batting coach Vikram Rathour said Pant will be India's No.3 throughout the tournament. He said, it helps that he is the left-hander.

Hardik Pandya delivered an excellent performance in the Ireland game. The all-rounder returned with figures 3/27 in his four overs.

Today's match between the arch-rivals can decide the outcome of this group as it is a must-win game for Pakistan following their shocking defeat to the USA.
