Full Job Description

This is a broad architectural role, overseeing design and technical requirements for developments from planning to completion including:

  • Produce design packages for planning, tender and construction.

  • Co-ordinate and issue all design and technical information to an agreed programme.

  • Assist with producing and maintaining the standard house type portfolio.

  • Liaise with Building Control and obtain Building Regulations approval.

  • Work with the engineering team to ensure accurate value engineered solutions are produced.

  • Appoint and liaise with external consultants - Structural Engineer, SAP & Overheating Assessor

  • Review and approve sub-contractor and third-party designs.

  • Assist the Planning team during pre-application and planning application stages.

  • Support the Commercial, Build and Sales teams and respond to technical queries.

  • Review and approve Sales and Marketing Literature.

  • Prepare Conveyance Plans.

  • Deliver sustainable design solutions and sustainable communities for our customers.

  • Any other duties as required by the Design Manager and Senior Team.

    Minimum 12 months experience either consultancy or house builder working on new housing developments.

  • Experience producing housing and apartment working drawing packages and providing technical guidance and support.

  • Computer literate with excellent knowledge of AutoCAD. (Revit, Sketch Up, Photoshop desirable but not essential)

  • Understanding of Building Regulations and NHBC Technical Standards.

  • Experience of planning and development in the housebuilding industry.

  • A reliable, hardworking team player who is passionate about high quality design.


  • Job Type: Full-time,
  • AutoCAD: 3 years (required)
