Are you passionate about making a genuine difference to peoples lives?

Due to the current post holders promotion, we have an opportunity for an occupational therapist to join our in-patient team, based at Glastonbury Care Home and West Mendip Hospital.

You would be a valued member, in a friendly multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, assistant practitioners, rehab assistants, social workers, pharmacy technicians, a discharge facilitator and others.

Your professional supervision, includes from the team leader who is an experienced occupational therapist, and works within the units.

Links with other occupational therapists within the intermediate care service are being developed, and profession specific peer supervision is now available

Full time, but part time working and job share considered. Part agile, flexible working, and development posts and secondments also considered., To provide high quality patient centred care and specialist rehabilitation to adults referred to the Intermediate Care Bedded Pathway Service.

Ideally a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service

In this post, you will be supported to

Develop, use and be creative with your OT skills to work holistically and look deeper than the original diagnosis,

Connect with, assess and treat patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.

Work with patients, to set personalised goals and individual treatment programmes.

Work with patients, their families and the MDT to plan and implement discharge .

Organise, prioritise and plan your own caseload.

Clinically and managerially supervise other members of the team.

Essential

  • HCPC Registration

  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses


  • Desirable

    Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
