Full Job Description

Our engineering company is recruiting a Business Administrator to join and to provide support to a busy team.

Your responsibility will be to support the management team and tasks will include; purchasing, Customer service, administration of HR, updating the database, liaising with suppliers and general office administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

1-Answering the phone and taking messages

2. Support Management with the administration of HR matters.

3. Prepare and keep up-to-date, in consultation with the Operations Manager, all personnel
employment files, employment policies and procedures.

4. Ensure all company vehicles are serviced, taxed and insured and maintained in good
running order and appearance.

5. Process and action requisition requests, communicate with suppliers and the
management for different aspects and stages of the procurement process.

6. Obtain, compare, and confidently speaking to suppliers to negotiate costs.

7.Process all purchase orders for all purchases.

8.Arranging deliveries overseas and in UK.

9. Reconcile delivery notes, purchase orders and invoices received, communicate with
suppliers and staff, when necessary to obtain proof of delivery.

10.Where necessary provide Reception cover.

11. Undertake additional administration duties and support the accounts department;
scanning, filing, printing etc.

  • Proven procurement history.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good administrative, organizational and time management skills.

  • Positive, results oriented and persistent personality.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Logical thinker and problem-solver.

  • Previous experience working in a role where tight deadlines had to be met.

  • Situated in Kirkbride, Wigton, Cumbria, Tweddle Engineering Design, Manufacture and Install bespoke plant and equipment from a covered workshop of over 4700m² situated on a 5 acre site. Timber Treatment Equipment, Material Handling Conveyors, Specialist Trailers, Pressure Vessels and Structural Steelwork are some of the works we undertake. Fully trained site teams carry out all installation works, site maintenance, service and repair. Welding to approved procedures in MIG, TIG and Sub-arc can be offered.

    Our multi disciplined office facility can carry out full Project Management, Design and production of Technical Drawings. Single piece fabrications up to 35 tonne can be manufactured, transported and installed. All heavy lifting can be carried out by our installation engineers and all necessary Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Certification is provided. Onsite Pressure and Lift Testing can be carried out and certificated.
