Full Job Description

Long term PA required for a lovely 38-year-old gentleman with learning disabilities who uses a wheelchair for mobility and lives with his parents in Newport. You will be required to work alongside another PA. We are looking for someone with a good sense of humour and is flexible to cover annual leave of the other PA. Ideally the successful candidate has experience with moving and handling, medication and working with someone with a learning disability.

Duties:

You will be expected to build a good and close working relationship with the man and also respect his family's boundaries, enabling him to lead a full and varied life, whilst supporting his needs as an individual.

The man requires assistance with aspects of personal care e.g., washing, dressing, administering medication and emergency medication for seizures (specialist training will be provided for this) and socialising.

The gentleman enjoys bowling, going to the cinema and going for a walk.

To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

    Hours: 15 - 20 hours per week (flexible)


  • Work Pattern: Hours are negotiable but will include some mornings 7am - 8.30am, some evenings and some Saturdays. Hours are longer when he goes in to respite every 4-6 weeks.

    Hourly Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour
