Full Job Description

The successful candidate will manage the daily running of Clevedon Community Centre. Its mission is to 'bring Clevedon together' by providing facilities that enable people to connect, to be entertained, and to enhance their well-being. Clevedon Community Centre comprises a series of inter-connected buildings: Sunhill House, an elegant mid-19th century home set in a beautiful garden (now converted into rooms for hire plus restaurant), Princes Hall (which can seat 250 people), and the Jubilee Lounge (which seats 50 and has a fully equipped bar).

Liaising with the Events Manager, you will manage all bookings from enquiry to completion (including enquiries, client site visits, production and issuing of booking and hire agreements). Liaising with the cleaning staff and caretakers, you will maintain and manage the physical environment of the centre to ensure it remains a high quality, clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will also liaise with the Bar Supervisors and Restaurant Manager on bookings which require the bar to be functioning or catering provided. You will work closely with the Accounts Lead whose tasks are to produce the invoices to all service users, oversee the payroll, pay all relevant bills and maintain proper financial records.

An important aspect of the job is to exploit the advantages of the existing facilities available and identify new opportunities by means of effective marketing, networking and innovative solutions. The Manager will be given a high degree of autonomy. The Board of Trustees (Executive Committee), as line manager, will support the new Manager to aid her/him in achieving their full potential within the role.

The post would suit a dynamic, flexible individual committed to the idea of building community. The pay of £14 per hour will be reviewed after successful completion of six months probation and also as part of our annual review of wages. Free parking is available on site and we operate the government workplace pension scheme.
