Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Insight team at Taylors of Harrogate (part of the wider Innovation & Strategy function) and we are looking for a Consumer Insight Manager to join us at the Taylors of Harrogate head office in Plumpton Park, Harrogate.

As a Consumer Insight Manager, you will be responsible for providing the business with quality actionable consumer insight.

This is a 12-month maternity cover role on a full-time fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours over five days. However, if you would like to discuss flexible working patterns please provide more details in your application. We offer flexibility in when and where you work your hours (e.g. hybrid working and flexitime), but ideally this would include 2-3 days per week collaborating with your peers at our offices in Harrogate.,

  • Championing consumer closeness and curiosity and bringing the consumer to life in an impactful and accessible way.

  • Leading the creation of Consumer Insight briefs using existing research and insight to and identifying and closing gaps to help the business better understand the target consumer, both in the UK and Internationally to meet marketing, innovation and commercial objectives.

  • Proactively sharing powerful actionable consumer understanding to influence decision making through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Responsible for analysing and synthesising qualitative and quantitative primary research and data, to develop a deep understanding of consumer motivations, attitudes and behaviours that will help us attract and retain our target consumer. This will include integrating agile test & learn approaches with more traditional consumer validation techniques.

  • Continually developing the existing portfolio of data & research providers to ensure we get access to the most appropriate insight and the optimum service level with the best ROI.

  • Line Management of one direct report.

    We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience of consumer insight & research methodologies preferably within an FMCG environment, who will be able to lead the insight agenda for our iconic brands (Yorkshire Tea & Taylors) within our key categories of Tea and Coffee.

    This individual needs to demonstrate an ability to pro-actively lead the consumer insight agenda. They must have a curious and flexible approach; striving to push the boundaries of insight techniques to work in an agile and entrepreneurial way. Able to build relationships and work with others to ensure insight is integrated within brand & business plans.
