Contractor Control Coordinator (24 Months FTC)

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Contractor Control Manager in ensuring that contractors working on our sites comply with health and safety regulations. This role includes aiding in the development and implementation of safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety among contractors.

Role Responsibilities & Main Duties:
Ensure all contractors comply with company safety policies and legal requirements.
Conduct pre-qualification assessments and safety audits of contractors.
Perform risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) reviews for contractor activities.
Identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures
Monitor and review risk assessments regularly to ensure their relevance and accuracy.
Ensure policies are communicated and enforced effectively among contractors.
Provide safety induction training to new contractors.
Conduct regular safety training sessions and toolbox talks.
Assist investigations into any incidents or near-misses involving contractors.
Assist in the preparation of detailed reports on findings and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Recommend and implement improvements to contractor health and safety management processes.
Ensure all health and safety related incidents are reported and investigated via the LBA Safety Incident Reporting System (SIR).
Co-ordination and implementation of all health and safety policies relating to contractor activities and initiatives across the airport site.
Ensure staff and business partner compliance with with LBA's Health and Safety Policy and Contractor Management protocols.
Participating in/performing site-wide workplace inspections across all airport operations.
Supporting the Contractor Control Manager with the management of all Health and Safety service and maintenance contracts in line with LBA's Control of Contractors policy and procedures.
Supporting the Contractor Control Manager to achieve the targets, objectives and initiatives as detailed within the airport's KPIs.
Providing administration support for the Centrik system, including management of contractor access request workflows, LOLER equipment registers, asbestos register, departmental training records and other operational areas as deemed necessary.
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all legislation.
Supporting the wider Engineering Team as required.
Build and maintain relationships with other departments.
Have a flexible approach.

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent);
Strong understanding of health and safety issues, industry trends
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
Confident, proactive and ability to work on own initiative
CDM experience.
