Full Job Description

This is your chance to be at the forefront of the newly formed Combined Authority (CA) for York and North Yorkshire to develop the skills of our residents through the Adult Education Budget (AEB)

  • . You'll be part of a small multi-disciplinary analytical team with a pivotal role in preparing and transitioning for the York and North Yorkshire CA to take responsibility for the devolved AEB. You'll be closely working with colleagues both internally and externally to build and maintain relationships with adult skills providers and key stakeholders, and to assist with the development of the systems and processes required to analyse, interpret, and report on provider performance so that the Combined Authority is ready to take on the responsibility of the AEB from August 2025., We welcome applications as a secondment opportunity.     To be successful you will have in depth knowledge of contracting documentation, systems and processes, and have a high level of analytical and IT skills sufficient to manipulate and create documents, spreadsheets and databases to interrogate and analyse data for performance measurement. Experience of working within strict education funding guidance is desirable.


  • You will also possess
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in disseminating information via written reports and presentations to a wide range of audiences in terms of both size and composition

  • The ability to establish effective working relationships, both internally and with a range of external organisations.


  • We are looking for candidates with contracting experience and would welcome applicants who have had experience of adult education funding, but full training will be provided on Post 16 Adult Education System.
