Full Job Description

As a Bottling/General Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of bottling production lines within our facility along with maintaining overall site machinery working with the Head of Engineering. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to breakdowns, planning and executing pre-planned maintenance activities, and providing ongoing support to optimise machine performance. Additionally, you will be involved in the installation of new machinery and providing technical assistance to machine setters., Breakdown Response:

· Promptly respond to machine breakdowns to minimize downtime and production interruptions.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues to restore equipment functionality efficiently.

· Implement effective solutions to prevent recurring breakdowns and enhance machine reliability.

Pre-Planned Maintenance:

· Collaborate with maintenance planners to schedule and prioritize pre-planned maintenance tasks.

· Perform routine maintenance activities according to established schedules, including both in-house tasks and coordination with external contractors when necessary.

· Conduct thorough inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues and address them proactively.

Issue Identification and Resolution:

· Monitor equipment performance and identify ongoing issues or inefficiencies.

· Analyse data and trends to determine root causes of recurring problems and propose sustainable solutions.

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support for Machine Setters:

· Provide technical guidance and support to machine setters during equipment setup and changeovers.

· Assist in training machine setters on proper operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.

· Collaborate with production teams to optimize machine settings for quality, efficiency, and safety.

Installation of New Machinery:

· Participate in the installation, commissioning, and startup of new bottling equipment.

· Ensure proper integration of new machinery into existing production lines, including alignment with safety and quality standards.

· Conduct testing and validation to verify equipment performance and functionality.

· Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or bottling environment.

· Electrical experience is highly desirable.

· Strong technical aptitude with expertise in mechanical systems, automation, and PLC programming.

· Proficiency in troubleshooting complex machinery and resolving technical issues effectively.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial environments.

· Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.,

  • Engineering: 3 years (preferred)
