Full Job Description

  • To support the structures team on designated projects with the delivery of high quality solutions across a variety of sectors for clients and project stakeholders.

  • Assisting in the preparation of site plans, drawings and conceptual site models using AutoCAD, Revit and other design software.

  • Co-ordinating the detailed design drawings and preparing specifications for tender and construction purposes.

  • Assisting with the production and issuing of project documentation and reports.

  • Working to company project controls, guidelines and procedures through compliance with other relevant Safety & Environmental legislation.

  • Understand the required programme, co-ordination, communication and Geosciences involvement within projects to ensure satisfactory delivery of a project.

  • Collaborate with design teams both internally and externally to deliver structural design solutions to agreed

  • timescales and budgets.
  • Present designs and concepts to key clients and shape the direction of the project.

  • Visiting sites during the Construction phase to monitor progress and provide advice to Contractors.


  • All of the above will be supported by the company director. You will not be expected to do anything independantly until you're confident doing so.

    The training you will be getting

  • The apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Standard qualification.

  • The apprenticeship will be delivered using a 'hybrid learning' approach, incorporating face-to-face; work-based assessment and learning support sessions, along with timetabled tutor led live e-tutorials (accessed using MS Teams Education).

    Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Problem solving skills, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4/C) Essential

    Training & Apprenticeships in Construction Ltd (TrAC) is a DfE approved Flexi Job Apprenticeship Agency who will employ you for the duration of the apprenticeship and pay your salary. You should be aware that you will be placed with a host employer but you will not be employed by them. Your placement may change during the course of your apprenticeship but TrAC will employ you throughout, as well as continuing to support you into employment or further learning at the end of your apprenticeship.
