Full Job Description

Within this role you will be responsible for the seamless operation of the Engineering Material Delivery department, managing the end-to-end activities and associated processes within the facilities. The role will see you ensure operations achieve a safe working environment, client and customer satisfaction, productivity improvements, excellence in operations as well as employee growth and performance.

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the EMD warehouse, including inbound, pick and outbound operations and milk run deliveries schedule, stock taking and control

  • Ensure that EMD team members have clearly defined roles and objectives and that they are trained, developed, and motivated to achieve the required standards of performance

  • Effective planning of all warehouse activities to ensure adherence to agreed KPIs and performance targets

  • Daily operational responsibility for the EMD store's function,

  • Ensure that all EMD equipment is maintained and inspected in line with relevant regulations

  • Ensure a seamless handover is in place from day to night shift, providing detailed daily communications to the Mitie team that are also based in the airside environment

  • Coordinate rosters for the EMD driver/storemen to ensure correct level of resource on shift and call out cover

  • Continuously improve processes and minimise errors as the operation seeks to increase efficiency and reduce costs

  • Provide management with required reports, information and feedback to contribute to the effective planning and resource forecasting

  • CLC Site H&S responsibility to include working collaboratively with the WJ Heathrow H&S Manager

    Prior experience leading high performing warehouse functions (preferably in construction/engineering)

  • Demonstrable track record of managing successful warehouse teams

  • Ability to multi-task and balance conflicting demands from numerous stake holders

  • Proven experience in use of online logistics systems/IMS

  • Experience in developing, implementing and improving operational procedures to ensure increased efficiencies and reduced cost

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • High computer literacy - must be competent in MS Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure

  • Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary

  • Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance to ensure team effectiveness and availability

  • Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the client

  • An interest in and commitment to the work of Wilson James for its clients

  • Sound knowledge of construction logistics at Heathrow Airport and/or the airside environment.

    The Role - Full Time, Permanent Role, working 5 days a week.
