Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Band 5 Exercise Therapist to work within Newcastle Treatment and Recovery (NTaR). NTaR is a specialist addiction service for anybody in Newcastle experiencing drug and alcohol problems who require specialist, clinical support. It is an ageless service. NTaR is recovery focused and provides a range of services including medical, harm reduction, psychosocial interventions, abstinence based recovery programmes and ongoing recovery support. Services are provided via a range of provision based on clinical need including day services, intensive support, individual keyworker sessions and clinic based support., The service is looking for a motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic exercise professional who has an interest in working with this patient group. You will be responsible for the management of your own caseload and diary so must demonstrate excellent communication skills, be reliable and adaptable to changing situations. You will need to demonstrate theappropriate skills and knowledge to work with the service users in assessing and reviewing clinical need. A key aspect of the role will include, establishing and promoting an Exercise Therapy pathway within NTaR which supports our service users recovery and reduces health inequalities within this clinical population., Exercise Therapy work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the post holder will be required to liaise with the other professionals within the MDT with regards to exercise treatment plans, physical health triggers, patient progress and discharge planning, they will attend ward meetings as required.
