Full Job Description

As a Field Service Technician (Electrical), you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in electrical systems for our clients. You will troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment on-site, ensuring optimal functionality and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.,

  • Conduct on-site installations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of electrical systems and equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to electrical systems, including but not limited to motors, generators, control panels, and wiring.

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and ensure equipment reliability.

  • Accept duties assigned by management that align with the role's strategic focus.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to understand technical requirements and provide effective solutions.

  • Document all service activities, including maintenance reports, service logs, and parts used, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Provide training and technical guidance to customers on adequately using and maintaining electrical systems.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in electrical engineering.

  • Participate in a 1 in 4 Callout Rota system.

    NVQ / Apprenticeship or a higher national diploma (HNC / HND) in electrical engineering or a related subject.

  • Proven experience (four years) working as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar role within the electrical industry.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Hands-on experience with testing equipment and diagnostic tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.

  • A full clean UK driving license is essential with the role being mobile.

  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed and work flexible hours., Professional certifications in electrical systems or relevant training programs. Such as City & Guilds, Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) or EAL - Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)

  • CompEx EX01-EX04 is advantageous

  • Prior experience in biogas, CNG and LNG industry

  • Knowledge and specific training of CHP plant (MAN, MWM, Caterpillar etc)

  • Gas Safe qualifications to COCN1 plus add ons.
