Full Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to manage finances for a dedicated research site. Playing a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing sales invoices, ensuring timely payments, and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in finance, excellent communication skills, and a passion for contributing to the advancement of clinical research. It will be a matrix role based in our Birmingham site.,

  • Generate and process sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.


  • Maintain the sales ledger and reconcile accounts receivable on a regular basis.


  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment and follow up on overdue invoices.


  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and address customer inquiries.


  • Review study budgets outlined in contracts and contribute to the set-up of study financials in the CTMS system.


  • Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers.


  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to sales and accounts receivable.


  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.


  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of sales ledger operations.


  • Provide support during audits and assist in the resolution of audit findings related to sales ledger activities.


  • Review and Book purchase invoices onto FutureMeds system for approval.


  • Settlements of patient reimbursements (travel, inconvenience, meals)


  • Support Site Director with all financial matters.


  • Required to undertake additional tasks as necessary.

    Proven experience working as a Sales Ledger/Credit Control Clerk


  • AAT qualified, or other relevant qualification would be advantageous but not essential.


  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the clinical research industry or a related field would be advantageous but not essential.


  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.


  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams., Finance Assistant: 3 years (preferred)

    Pay: £25,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
