Full Job Description

Turners (Soham) is recruiting LGV Class CE (Class1) tramper food grade powder tanker drivers to be based at our Trafford Park, Manchester Depot. Nights away from depot will be required for these vacancies.

As a professional and skilled driver you will be required to demonstrate professionalism and courteous conduct to our customers. As a driver within our Foods Grade Products division, you will develop close working relationships with your planning, training, and supervisory team, and driving colleagues in an organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Our customers have variable loading and delivery times that are governed by factory production schedules, meaning that drivers will need to be flexible, when required, with shift starting and finishing times. Shift lengths do vary but you are expected to comply with all Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations at all times.

Turners can offer employment to suitable newly qualified drivers with limited experience, and full training will be provided to these candidates. We are also keen to engage experienced drivers who can bring expertise and knowledge to our company.

Successful applicants MUST have the following:

  • Full LGV C+E) Class 1) licence.

  • Driver CPC & Tacho Card.

  • Powder or liquids tanker experience (preferred) but not essential.

    Shifts available: Sunday to Thursday. (Average earnings £846 weekly plus subsistence).

    • Tuesday to Saturday. (Average earnings £840 weekly plus subsistence).
    Monday to Friday, with optional weekend day every second week.
    (Average earnings £816 weekly plus subsistence),
  • Weekly driving style bonus. (Can be up to £25 weekly).

  • Overtime available on optional shift days.

  • Weekly pay.

  • Company uniform and PPE provided.

  • Tax free meals and nights out allowances. (Can be up to £140 weekly).

  • Company contributory pension scheme.

  • Paid CPC training during employment (Terms applicable depending on expiry date of current DQC).

  • Driver LGV medical fee allowance.

  • Minimum guaranteed shift hours.

  • Full training provided.

  • Annual driver retention bonus.

  • Drivers are allocated their own regular unit.
