What you will be doing
A vacancy has arisen for a full time Goods in Checker position at our Preston SC.
Working within the Inbound Department and reporting to the Goods in Team Leader.
The working week will consist of 39 hours:
06:00 - 14:00 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 - 13:00 Friday.

About The Job
Our service centres play a pivotal role in the success of our business and are responsible for ensuring that we deliver potentially lifesaving medicines to an extensive network of local customers on a twice daily basis. This is a vital and varied role, involving the accurate checking and putting away of orders within the automated system, the medical bulk area, the fridge area and secure areas. You should also adhere to all health and safety guidelines and maintain good housekeeping practices.
About You:
You will work in a tidy and methodical manner and take pride in a high standard of accuracy. You should be flexible to suit the needs of the business and approach all new tasks with a positive attitude. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will have intermediate Numeracy and Literacy. You will need to be physically capable of standing for long periods, as well as bending and lifting.
Type of work -
These are general warehouse roles and involve the checking and putaway of orders, replenishment of stock, handling of pallets and the use of pallet trucks - because of the varied nature of the roles in our warehouse there is normally a role available to suit everyone.
It must be noted that all shifts work on a "job until finish basis" as our workload varies - all colleagues are expected to stay after their contracted times if the workload requires it,
Overtime is not guaranteed but is available across the working week .
There is a 3 month probationary period. Additional supplements and payments are in place for different roles completed or different hours worked.

This position pays £12.10 per hour, overtime (if available) is paid at time and a half.
