Full Job Description

The primary responsibility of the post will be to monitor and facilitate radiology's compliance to patient pathways, either established or newly introduced. The individual will implement an escalation criteria and run daily statistics to help audit both compliance and performance activity. The post holder will act to mitigate risk of potential patient breaches by helping to arrange imaging appointments and ensuring formal and validated reports are available within the designated timeframes. The post holder will routinely liaise with imaging modality leads, To keep appraised of the operational position of each imaging specialty, accounting for planned downtime and planning service provision for all patient pathways. The successful candidate will also be the radiology's departments representative at weekly cancer PTL meetings.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department at Royal Bolton Hospital. The department is looking for a forward thinking and enthusiastic Imaging Navigator to join our friendly imaging team.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced member of staff to be part of this specialist team, working across radiology's administrative and clerical department. The post holder will work closely with clinical teams implementing and improving patient pathways., · English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent experience.

· Diploma in Team Leading

· ECDL or equivalent skills

· Information Governance Training

Experience

· Previous experience of working with the public and/or patients in a healthcare environment

· Experience of interaction with all levels of staff

· Previous administrative and organisational experience

· Experience of managing and prioritising own workload and working to deadlines

· Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems

· Experience of managing, recording and interpreting data.

Knowledge

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail

· Excellent customer care practice, being polite, sympathetic, patient and diplomatic

· Understanding of patient confidentiality

· Knowledge of patient handling systems (LE2.2, RIS, Infoflex, etc.)

· Awareness of National and Trust pathway targets (both 2WW and RTT pathways)
