Full Job Description

As a Barclays Know Your Client (KYC) Team Leader, you will have an opportunity to be managing a team of KYC Analysts who will be responsible for conducting the KYC on our Investment or Corporate banking clients. You will be responsible for driving a high value, business critical, KYC control function whilst maintaining high productivity, high standards in quality and to lead, motivate and develop your team., At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?

  • Leading, managing and motivating a high performing KYC team with a focus on high standards, quality, customer service, controls, execution, and delivery

  • Building and maintaining close relationships with key stakeholders across KYC, Financial Crime and Compliance in order to champion policy and procedural changes as needed

  • Working collaboratively with KYC management on the interpretation of AML policy into KYC Operational procedures

  • Supporting the Head of KYC to embed a control framework and embed a culture of risk

  • Investing in recruitment, training, coaching, and motivating your team, promoting, supporting, and managing under performance

  • Providing high value technical KYC support to the KYC team and ensuring KYC due diligence has been completed in accordance with the Bank's guidelines

  • Helping the Head of KYC in building a best in class 'Go To' team for expertise and embedding a culture of 'Right First Time' across KYC

    Proven leadership experience including recruitment, structuring, leading and motivating operational teams to deliver results against stretching performance targets

  • Excellent understanding of KYC

  • Practical experience in fulfilment of Controls and Checks

  • Ability to contribute effectively when working with colleagues at more senior levels across KYC and with Coverage colleagues, both verbally and written

  • Previous experience in a Control Environment, involving Risk Management

  • Excellent Business Skills, including Delivering Solutions and Decision Making
