Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks in their day to day roll:

  • NX Programming of multiple aerospace fabrications

  • Adaptive machining techniques to achieve a product fit for purpose

  • Machine fixture design for manufacture where required

  • Modification of existing machine fixture to meet new manufacture process

  • Management of work through company PLM software

  • Liaise with different suppliers where required

  • Decide upon tooling strategies to best suit process

  • Aid the setting of fixtures and tooling on 5 axis machine centres

  • Machining of product through to FAIR sign off

  • Support the proving out of new NC programmes alongside operators

  • Deliver all supporting documentation for along with NC programs leaving each process fit for manufacture.

    HNC or equivalent in a related field

  • Recognized engineering apprenticeship e.g. City & Guilds/ BTEC Level 3 or equivalent

  • Good level of numeracy and literacy

  • Good level of IT skills


  • Previous Experience

  • Understanding of Siemens NX environments - CAD, CAM, Modelling and Drafting

  • Setting & operating 5 axis machine centre's

  • Vertical 5 axis machine centres - Matsuura & Mazak would be ideal

  • Mazak Intergrex experience

  • Aerospace or Oil & Gas background favourable

  • In process inspection techniques

  • Knowledge of industry standard measuring/ inspection techniques

  • PC DMIS knowledge advantageous

  • Experience of machining Aluminium & Stainless fabrications

  • High level of understanding of adaptive machining - Renishaw probing
