Full Job Description
A crucial component of Analox's manufacturing operations, this role will focus on optimising production processes and workflows
within the plant. The production/manufacturing engineer will be responsible for analysing current manufacturing methods,
identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. They will
work closely with the manufacturing team to streamline operations, reduce waste, and ensure that production meets quality
standards while adhering to delivery schedules. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong analytical
skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing
performance.
Main Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
- Optimise and maintain Manufacturing Engineering processes in line with company and product quality standards, including ISO
- Ensure robust designs and processes for the Manufacturing team, meeting product yield, quality, and time targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion and implement design for manufacturing principles throughout the product
- Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the Operations team.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimise manufacturing timelines.
- Evaluate and improve current processes and procedures, to eliminate waste and improve output.
- Effectively manage time across multiple projects, clearly communicating progress to stakeholders.
- Design and implement manufacturing routings within the company's MRP system.
- Work closely with the Production support team to achieve departmental targets and KPIs.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of the company's product portfolio and manufacturing processes.
- Stay up to date with manufacturing technologies relevant to the company's needs.
- Support the Operations team, providing training on best practices for key processes.
- Create detailed and accurate work instructions using CAD and written documentation.
- Ability to obtain security clearance for MoD / Military access as required.
Essential: - Degree / HND (or relevant experience) in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
- Proficient in electronic fault finding, soldering, and electrical wiring
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control
- Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 8D)
- Proficient in CAD software, Microsoft Office suite, and MRP systems
- Ability to create and optimise work instructions for product manufacturing
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to various audiences
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of programming languages and PLCs.
- Applied knowledge of quality principles.
- 3 Years+ Electrical / Electronic Practical Production Engineering Experience.
- Proven track record in implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proactive approach to work with excellent time management and prioritisation abilities
- Committed to continuous improvement and personal/professional development
- Experience with automation systems.
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies.
