Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the Market Data Services Team, within Data Collection and Publication Team, providing second and third line technical support for the Bank-wide Market Data Services. Additionally, the team deliver a continuous stream of change and new business requirements to the Bank which underpin many of the Banks core functions. The Team supports more than a 100 Market Data Systems, eg LSEG Refinitiv and Bloomberg, Dealing Systems and Contribution Systems (publishing Bank announcements) and data feeds into applications and databases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to approximately 1500 customers around the Bank for the delivery and use of Market Data Services such as LSEG Refinitiv and Bloomberg. This covers a range of responsibilities such as; collaborating with other Technology teams, responding to support calls, monitoring systems, coordinating software/service upgrades, liaising with external suppliers, promoting awareness of systems and security ensuring systems are robust and resilient. There will be the opportunity to be involved with project-based tasks. Good customer communication, interaction and service will be required as well as good organisation and an attention to detail.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for the job holder to develop a broader variety of skills ranging from understanding the technical complexity of Market Data Platforms, onboarding them into the Bank and gaining an understanding of how such key services/systems and the data support the Bank in it's mission.

Role Requirements

The candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide first and second line support to the business users of Market Data Services following ITIL framework

  • Manage the day-to-day activities for the Market Data Services ensuring that an appropriate balance is maintained between live services and delivering high quality, planned technical change

  • Ensure Market Data Services are maintained to the highest standards and in line with Bank security Policies

  • Deliver new and maintain existing Market Data Services liaising with other technical Teams and external suppliers to deliver as efficiently as possible in order to meet demand.

  • Maintain a high level of focus on continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives always aiming to increase delivery efficiency and change

  • Deliver great service to business and IT colleagues alike

  • Market Data services knowledge is beneficial but not essential

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills both written and verbal

  • Previous experience providing IT support is essential

  • Experience in supporting business critical services

  • Confidence when dealing with internal customers

  • Commitment to provide a reliable, efficient and high quality service

  • Proactively follow Service Management standards and procedures and be familiar with the ITIL Framework

  • Have demonstrable experience of planning and delivering multiple work streams to tight deadlines dealing with conflicting and changing demands

  • Willingness to take ownership of issues and ensure they are resolved to the highest standards

    Data Collection & Publication Team resides within the Technology division that develops, supports and maintains the systems that are used across the organisation for systematically collecting and publishing data. Its core function is to analyse, design, develop and successfully deliver quality, robust solutions that provide internal and external decision makers with the data they need. Data Collection & Publication is a cross functional team of developers, delivery managers, administrators, technicians and engineers.
