Full Job Description
Reporting into the Head of Depots you will be responsible for standardization across locations, ensuring best practice and lessons learnt are embedded. Duties will include but not limited to:
Depot Operations:
- Coordinate light maintenance workstreams delivery across multiple ATC sites and producing relevant work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Drive improvements in HSEQ such as safety tours to ensure work locations are compliant with relevant standards
- Lead and undertake investigations into Serious Operational Incidents and accidents, identifying root cause and ensuring preventative measures are identified, tracked, and implemented to closure.
- Identify and lead on delivery of best operational practice from across the wider Division/Group
- Provide strategic input to capacity planning in respect of the development of and/or changes to operational plans.
- Review and Coordinate Depot Managers in the annual depot budget preparation and budget forecasting.
- Ensure competence assessment and audit compliance at the depots within remit.
- Review and lead depot management to ensure all work undertaken is in line with customer, technical and legislative standards, and specifications and is done so in a timely manner and to a high standard, in line with customer expectations.
- Deliver pro-active customer management identifying and developing possible opportunities on maximising revenues and cost savings.
- Participate in contract review and liaison, on all customer contracts, on behalf of ATC
- Coach operational managers to ensure operational skills and knowledge are maintained and developed.
- Play an active part in talent spotting and succession planning to ensure the retention and development of employees.
- Undertake and complete annual Performance Development Reviews with direct reports, in a timely manner.
- Mentoring and coaching of Depot Management teams.
- Support with disciplinaries/appeals relating to operational incidents when required.
Professional engineering qualification preferred or working towards - Previous experience working at depot Manager Level or above
- Previous experience of developing, review and change management of Rail Depot Operations Standards
- People Management Training to min ILM Level 3
- Full and valid driving licence
- Recognised accident and investigation training
- Previous contract management experience
