Full Job Description

The successful candidate will provide highly specialist physiotherapy for children undergoing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) or within the acute neurosciences service, within Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. The postholder will assist in the development of this service as a member of the multidisciplinary team and provide a source of expertise locally, nationally and internationally., To provide a highly specialised service that includes the assessment, treatment and management of children referred for SDR, assisting in the development, planning and progression of service provision.

To act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children requiring rehabilitation

To provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team and to provide clinical education and training to others within the Trust and externally.

To take a lead role in the management of more difficult and complex cases within a multi-disciplinary team approach, acting as an autonomous practitioner.

To assist across the neurosciences service, supporting colleagues to provide suitable rehabilitation opportunities for all patients.

To be an active member of the 24 hours and weekend on-call service, undertaking assessment and treatment of acutely ill children., children, young people and vulnerable adults.
