Payroll & Finance Advisor

37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Permanent Opportunity

£27,000 to £30,000 per annum dependent on experience

Denstone College wish to provide an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Payroll & Finance Advisor to join our small and supportive Bursary team. You will work under the direction of the Finance Manager, with overall responsibility of internal payroll and liaising with our external payroll provider. In addition, you will support finance, be involved in project work, as well as ensuring that the College remains up to date with current legislation and best practice. Beginning life as a school in 1873, Denstone College is a thriving, co-educational boarding and day school, situated close to Uttoxeter. It has its own preparatory school, which has recently moved onto the main campus, providing continuous education on the same site for pupils aged from 4-18. The school is part of the Woodard Corporation, and the Head is in membership of HMC.

The successful candidate will have:

  • CIPP Payroll qualification, IAB Diploma in Payroll or equivalent payroll/accounting qualification or experience

  • Experience of payroll administration

  • Experience of providing payroll advice to employees and managers

  • Experience of liaising with external payroll providers desired

  • Accurate knowledge of employment law in relation to payroll processing and payroll best practice

  • Excellent ICT skills and the ability to utilise a number of packages to include Excel

  • Understanding of UK tax, salary and payroll laws and regulations
