Full Job Description

To pursue settlement of a pre-litigation credit hire file as soon as practically possible, ensuring Client Guidelines are adhered to. It is important that the job holder can quickly review files and formulate an initial Strategy, commence early telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations and liaise with Insurers where necessary.,

  • Reviewing pre proceedings files, noting and abiding by Client Guidelines

  • Formulating initial Strategy

  • Implementing the Strategy agreed

  • Undertaking telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations

  • Pursuing settlement as quickly as possible

  • Liaising with Insurers where necessary

  • Ensuring 'actions' are carried out as per Action Lists in Case Management System

  • Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines

  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations

  • Working Hours
    35 hours per week
    Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the Bolton office and 4 days from home., Personal Development:

  • Further career progression will depend on the File Handler's aptitude and desire to move to a different business unit dealing with litigated fast track, fraud or multi track work.

  • Education - at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree is preferable.

  • Ability to use own initiative.

  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.

  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.

  • Good telephone negotiation skills.

  • Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy.

  • Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.

  • Ability to make decisions.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred.

  • Experience of credit hire is essential and the applicant would be expected to have been working in an environment where they have been exposed to credit hire cases on a day to day basis for at least 6 months.
