Production & Performance Manager

As a Production and Performance Manager at our new automated Distribution Centre, you will manage and optimise the performance of our automated systems, whilst continuously seeking opportunities to enhance overall warehouse efficiency.

Located at the Omega Business Park, off Junction 8 on the M62, this facility is the UK's first of its kind, utilising WITRON's order picking machinery (OPM) and will become operational in early 2025.

Your responsibilities include overseeing Control Room activities, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of the warehouse capacity schedule, and managing performance KPIs for operations from goods in, to goods out. You will work with the WITRON automation system to lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, implementing process improvements, and providing daily performance reports. Additionally, you will maximise product throughput via automated processes and manage a team of Process and Master Data Engineers.
Job Overview

• Manage Control Room Activities: Oversee all operations within the Control Room to ensure efficient functioning.


• Deliver Daily Warehouse Capacity Schedule: Ensure the daily warehouse capacity schedule is delivered on time, within budget, and to the correct standards.


• Team Management and Development: Set objectives, manage performance, and develop the team of Process and Master Data Engineers through regular feedback and development actions.


• Manage Performance KPIs: Oversee and deliver end-to-end performance KPIs for warehouse operations, from goods in to goods out.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with Warehouse, IT, Engineering, Buying, and Transport teams to review plans and resolve technical issues.


• Resolve Automation Issues: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of automation process and technical issues to minimise operational impact.


• Implement Process Improvements: Develop and implement process improvements to increase automation efficiency.


• Provide Performance Reporting: Deliver daily automation performance reports to operational stakeholders.


• Maximise Automated Product Throughput: Enhance the volume of products processed through automated systems versus manual pick.
  
  Advanced experience in providing operational technical support within a fast paced, high volume automated warehouse/manufacturing environment.


• Experience of leading technical teams.


• Experience of managing and implementing process improvement initiatives.
