Full Job Description

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all parts, components, and manufacturing processes at Haztec International meet the highest quality standards and for dealing with non-conformance issues as they arise. This role involves conducting inspections, testing, and quality checks throughout the production cycle to identify and address any defects or non-conformities. It also involves day to day management of the quality processes and procedures,

  • Generate inspection checklists, quality standards, and coordinate with Operations Manager to understand inspection tasks and criteria.

  • Coordinate with Manager and Supervisors for quality-related issues and corrective actions

  • Identify and arrange necessary testing equipment, measuring instruments, gauges, and parts required for inspections.

  • Ensure proper calibration of tools, gauges, and measuring instruments used during the manufacturing process.

  • Conduct visual inspections of parts and products for defects, damages, packaging issues, etc.

  • Assist with Goods-in and provide guidance for first off inspection.

  • Support the investigation of NCRs, corrective & Preventative Actions (CAPA) and Customer Complaints.

  • Assist with carrying out internal audits and ensure the yearly plan is on target.

    Previous automotive or lighting industry experience would be an advantage but is not essential, although the successful candidate is likely to come from an engineering or quality management environment., Ideally a formal technical, engineering or quality management qualifications is anticipated but not essential.

  • Proven experience as a Quality Control / quality management role, preferably in a combined electrical and mechanical manufacturing industry

  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, procedures and inspection techniques

  • Familiarity with relevant quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices (ISO9001-2015)

  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, measuring instruments, and quality control software

  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications

    Haztec International is a UK manufacturer of vehicle mounted equipment and has a vacancy for a Quality Engineer.

    Normal working hours would be 8:30- 5:00, Mon Fri, although some flexibility could be available to suit individual circumstances.


  • We are based in Yeadon Leeds, and provide free onsite parking as well as electric vehicle charging facilities.

    Salary will be competitive and dependant on skills and previous experience.
