Full Job Description

Due to continued growth and expansion of our capabilities, including the recent addition of new CNC machining centre, we are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector/Engineer to join our team and help maintain our high standards of quality assurance.

Specializing in CNC machining, fabrication, and welding services for various industries including oil & gas, renewable energy, and general engineering sectors.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, investment in advanced technology, and our highly skilled workforce.

The Role

To oversee product quality throughout the business, ensuring that we consistently meet and exceed our customers' expectations. To work with the Quality Manager and other team members in promoting a right-first-time approach to all tasks within the company.

To advise on best measurement techniques and practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the business. To work within our established quality management system.

This is a salaried position.

Key duties:

  • Conduct first-off, interim, and final inspection activities on machined and fabricated parts.

  • Use our production management system to accurately track job progress, log conforming parts, and identify any quality issues.

  • Inspect incoming materials, goods, and parts from suppliers.

  • Complete First Article Inspections and inspection reports as required.

  • Ensure adherence to agreed quality plans and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and complete quality documentation.

  • Conduct reject analysis for internal and external non-conformances.

  • Carry out root cause analysis and complete corrective action reports.

  • Process concession requests when necessary.

  • Work collaboratively within the quality team and provide cover for other team members when required.

  • Assist with contract review to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and met.

  • Liaise with customers on quality-related matters as needed.

  • Visit customer or supplier premises for quality-related issues when required.

  • Participate in internal auditing activities (training will be provided if necessary).

  • Proficiently use and program relevant CMM and measuring equipment.

  • Conduct part marking when required.

    Minimum of 3 years' experience in a precision machining and fabrication inspection role.

  • Extensive experience using various metrology equipment.

  • Experience with CMM programming and operation

  • . Strong time management and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literate with experience in quality management software.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.

  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)

  • Internal auditing experience or qualification (training will be provided if required).

  • You must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to NE Engineering Ltd in Great Yarmouth before applying for this position.
