Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous refrigeration engineer with at least 5 years' experience. (Desired but not essential). As a refrigeration engineer you will be responsible for monitoring, repairing and installing a variety of systems in diverse environments.

Tasks and responsibilities within the role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Carrying out PPM, maintenance repairs, retrofits and new installations within set timeframes and according to defined processes; in line with service agreements and customer requirements for various types of equipment.

  • Activities will also include, defect identification, reporting and repair on various scale refrigeration systems.

  • Installation and commissioning,

  • Survey and report writing,

  • Creating and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring that risk assessments are adhered to and amended as required.

  • You will act as a technical "on the job" coach for less experienced service team members and may be required to assist/ lead coordination of onsite work activity for larger jobs with support available from the Technical Director as and when required.

  • Complete planned works on the refrigeration units whether this be in the workshop or out onsite as well as undertake customer visits and resolve customer requests / calls as necessary.

  • Develop positive customer relationships, ensure pro-active feedback on and documentation of the customer's equipment of work completed.

    Electrical fault-finding ability and experience of testing and commissioning;

  • F-Gas Qualification;

  • Level 2 / 3 in Air-Conditioning and refrigeration or equivalent;

  • Competent in brazing refrigeration pipework;

  • Mechanical/ Electrical aptitude and sound engineering skills; (BMS/ RDM/ TREND/Co2 Ammonia, experience is desired)

  • At least 5 years previous experience in the refrigeration industry;

  • An excellent approach to H&S requirements;

  • Flexible to work outside normal business hours at times and overtime if required, as well as staying away overnight and call out work;

  • IT skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft systems and the ability to produce reports;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; work well as part of a team and under own initiative;

  • Adaptable to change and able to work under pressure;

  • Possession of strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills;

  • Able to manage required commissioning and completion paperwork to a high standard;

  • Often the first point of contact to represent the Company in a professional manner;

  • Good attention to detail;

  • Full clean driving licence;

  • Refrigeration Engineer: 5 years (preferred)

    Due to continued growth, Fletcher Cooling Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our team.


  • The company, located in Fleetwood, Lancashire. Established in 2016, the company currently operates Nationally within the UK, with further growth anticipated in 2024 and 2025.

    Start date: 2 - 4 weeks from a successful interview and offer being accepted.

    Bonus: Reviewed against company success and allocated in December providing criteria is met.

    Holidays: 28 days inclusive of bank holidays
    Salary Date: On 1st of each month.
    Company Vehicle: Company van
    Company Equipment: Laptop / Mobile/ Specialist tools
    Hours of work: 45hours per week, (overtime pay after 45 hours is achieved).

    All travel time paid door to door at single time. This is home or if you are staying in accommodation.

    Overtime for time onsite once 45 hours are achieved Monday - Friday paid at time + ½ per hour

    Additional hours worked after 10 pm Monday - Friday paid at double time

    Saturday overtime paid at time + ½ per hour

    Sunday overtime paid at double time

    Planned night works paid at time + 1/3
