Security Guard / Concierge

We are looking for active customer service oriented security personnel to work in front desk positions within student based premises across Cardiff. Parts of the job include, but are not limited to:

• Monitoring Cameras for criminality, trespass, and resident safety


• Monitoring Alarm Systems (fire and intruder)


• Patrolling the building as necessary to deter criminality from occurring


• Ensuring buildings are locked down


• Providing a helpful customer-service presence at the security desk


• Dealing with basic first aid requirements outside of office hours, signposting more serious emergencies to the relevant statutory services.


Typical things you could have to do on shift across both buildings:

• Ask homeless people (including some intoxicated) to move on.


• Detect & prevent bike theft


• Talk to residents at all times of day and signpost them to support services


• Monitor various alarms and investigate the reasons they've triggered


• Patrol the buildings at certain times, checking various doors are locked


• Hand out: Parcels, Lost Property (including logging it), games equipment, and various other equipment/items


• Keep the office clean for the next member of the team


• Anything else the client reasonably asks of us
  
  You MUST have a 5 year UK based checkable work history for this role


• You MUST be able to read, write, and converse in English or Welsh to a competent level for this role


• You MUST NOT have any visa restrictions which stop you from working the hours required. We are recruiting for contracted hours and not casual staff at this time.


• We will require you to undergo a DBS check as part of our screening process (at our expense) prior to offering you this role


• You need either a Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence from the SIA

Due to longstanding members of our team moving on, we currently have two full time vacancies for security guarding roles in central Cardiff.,
• to be a diligent note-taker, ensuring that the daily occurrence software is a true representation of your shift


• to be able to use basic Windows applications (Outlook for email, Excel for spreadsheets, Teams/Telegram for chat communication, Word for printing signs etc)


• to be able to use an Android phone to the level of tapping patrol tags and typing your notes for the DOB


• to be well presented and represent the client and ourselves in a professional way.


• to be customer service oriented - all of our sites are customer-facing security roles and customer experience is key.
  
  K9 Protection Ltd are an SIA Approved Contractor providing guarding & key holding services to clients across South Wales. We have been in business since 2011 and the clients that we are tasking for here have been with us for many years. We pay monthly and only employ on a PAYE basis. We do not use subcontractors or agencies.
  
  The first site works on a 4 earlies, 4 lates, 4 rest days pattern.

The second site works on a 3 week rota pattern., Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
