JOB MISSION:

The Senior IT Technical Engineer will maintain the infrastructure, networks and systems that keep our manufacturing plant running efficiently. Deep technological expertise across networking, various computer systems and software, combined with effective interpersonal skills, will be essential as this role will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the factory and global IT team.

This role is a primary IT interface for the manufacturing teams and the ideal candidate can work both on the technical side as well as having the ability to consult with the business to help define requirements and solutions for IT projects. There will also be involvement in a range of technology projects outside of the facility which will see planned travel within Europe.

The Senior IT Technical Engineer is required to be onsite 4 days a week with flexibility in working hours to accommodate a healthy work life balance and accommodate maintenance upgrades.

This position is based in our manufacturing facility in UK.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage all network hardware and IT equipment onsite, ensuring network connectivity of all end devices.

  • Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades and maintain asset management.

  • Participate in an Agile team with daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, and iteration planning.

  • Clearly communicate requirements from manufacturing partners into team.

  • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.

  • Create and maintain IT documentation (such as network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records).

  • Perform system backups and recovery.

  • Support, train, and provide guidance to relevant personnel.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance the organisation's infrastructure and security posture.

  • Maintain IT contracts onsite and seek opportunities to increase ROI.

  • Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors to deliver IT services.


  • REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Valid Driving License and Passport is essential as the role will involve travel across UK and Europe.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco Meraki MS/MR/MX, Palo Alto Firewalls, HPE Aruba Wireless Controllers and Cloud technology.

  • CCNA is desirable.

  • Experience of troubleshooting complex enterprise networks and technologies.

  • The ability to troubleshoot system faults both remotely and on-site.

  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and operating systems

  • Have a continuous improvement mentality and able to conduct research as required.

  • Ability to present updates and ideas in user-friendly language, whether to individuals or large groups, both in person and virtually.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

  • Able to effectively prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Highly collaborative especially when working with IT colleagues around the world.

  • Knowledge of virtualisation technology, Zerto, Azure Backup, Azure File Sync, Veeam is desirable.

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing facility and working in an agile team would be beneficial.
