Full Job Description

Role objectives

  • Work efficiently and effectively to deliver assigned planned and reactive maintenance.


  • Use PDA technology to evidence compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, and personal productivity.


  • Carry out diagnostic checks and fault finding utilising multiskilled knowledge and experience supporting all estates teams within your own qualifications and or abilities.


  • Complete all work related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.


  • Support Trust staff, patients and visitor to the facilities ensuring a positive patient experience.


  • Main duties

    · Support your Supervisor in all aspects of the services ensuring statutory and contract compliance.

    · Ensure assets work properly, are maintained in accordance with the contract, relevant Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), Health Building Memoranda (HBM), Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&M), and Manufacturer's Instructions; and maintained in a good state of repair, evidenced by accurate and complete equipment repair and maintenance CAFM records.
  • Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.

  • Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.

  • Complete maintenance works "on time"


  • · Review and propose recommendations to improve productivity and the efficiency of set routines and work schedules with your line manager.

    · Challenge and promote safe working ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) compliance is at the forefront of what is delivered as evidenced by application of Mitie's LiveSafe procedures, continuous improvement of Hazzard Observations reported through Mitie's LiveSafe application, no Lost Time Accidents (LTA) or serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases or specified dangerous occurrences (near misses) as defined by the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR).

    · Utilise Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all works carried out.

    · Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of responsibility. All employees who work in the Estates department are expected to cover for each other during holidays, leave or absences.
  • Pro-active and positive approach to work.

  • Must have sound interpersonal skills and pay attention to detail.

  • Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.

  • Provide excellent customer service to the client and patients / visitors, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.

  • Ensure clients operational procedures are always adhered to.

  • Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client's representative as and when required.

  • Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20kg.

  • Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment; able to work at height.
