Full Job Description

with everything from entry level qualifications, arts and wellbeing courses through to employability support to help people fulfil
their potential. This is through Riverside Training, our employment and skills team, and CLIP, an education provider.

Your role is to ensure that we have great and safe facilities across our student portfolio, which are compliant with
the ever-evolving legislation and regulation. We want them to be inviting, to look great and most importantly to be a welcoming
'home and community' that our students feel proud to be a part of. You will be passionate about ensuring students have the best
possible experiences with their accommodation and their 'homes' whilst they live on site.

As a Site Services Officer, a typical day might include:

  • Maintaining a variety of records and systems to ensure that we have full and accurate logs and reports in all areas of building

  • compliance.

  • Gathering and analysing data around stock condition to support recommendations and decision making around investment and future

  • works

  • Liaising and coordinating with contractors to get quotes, complete work, auditing paperwork, snagging works and any

  • other contractor related tasks

  • Using our finance system to ensure orders are raised and paid in a timely manner, following the correct protocols.


  • Completing regular inspections and testing of buildings and grounds, site systems and equipment, ensuring any remedial work is

  • recorded and completed within set timescales.

  • Liaising with the site team to ensure the whole site is well maintained, tidy, secure and welcoming at all times


  • Playing a key role in ensuring we communicate effectively with our people and supporting the wider team

  • to implement opportunities to hear and respond to their feedback.

  • Reviewing systems and process and identifying and implementing change to ensure we work as efficiently and effectively as

  • possible

  • Being the eyes and ears of the business on sites; noticing, responding, actioning and/or reporting issues such as

  • hazards, repairs, wellbeing and safeguarding concerns

  • Supporting the Site Services Manager to coordinate and deliver our summer works program. Ensuring that we have the sites ready

  • and prepared for any turnarounds or move in dates.

  • Completing repair and maintenance works including identifying the cause of issues, problem-solving/ fixing

  • issues and, replacing/ upgrading parts.

  • Working as part of the team to help promote and welcome our people at Open Days and Move in Weekends.


  • On occasions you may be asked to support at our other sites should there be a need.

    Knowledge, understanding and experience of having responsibilities within areas of health

  • and safety, building safety and safety rules identified in health and safety policy

  • Knowledge and experience of safe working systems of work.


  • Good working knowledge of DIY with at least a basic knowledge of maintenance, plumbing, decorating, plastering and joinery


  • Have a 'can do' attitude to ensure we exceed our people's expectations.


  • Excellent customer service skills and focus at all times.


  • Excellent administration skills. It is essential to be detail oriented, organised, and great at planning ahead.


  • IT proficient, with the ability to accurately use IT platforms and systems to ensure all works are logged and information is

  • correct.

  • Ability to coordinate, monitor and control contractors.


  • The added extras:

  • As travel will be required, you will need to either hold a UK driving license or have the means to transport yourself from one

  • site to another

  • It would be great if you have experience of working within Accommodation or Housing Sector.


  • Qualification in Joinery, plumbing or construction would be a fabulous addition.


  • Being IOSH or NEBOSH qualified would be great, if you don't hold either qualification, then you must have a willingness to

  • complete then

  • A working knowledge and understanding of relevant building regulation and legislation regarding Purpose Built

  • Student Accommodation, if you already have this it's a bonus, but if not, you must be prepared for the learning journey.
