Full Job Description

As a dedicated social care worker your role is to bring exceptional, outcome-based care with the sensitivity which will preserve the dignity, privacy, choice, independence, fulfilment and rights of the children and young people we support. Your role is far more than a job; it's a heartfelt commitment to give the children and young people we support the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.

Your role will involve co-ordinating support functions and/or undertaking specialised activities as well as providing advice and assistance to children and young people.,

  • Medication Administration - Assist individuals with medication management and maintaining accurate records.

  • Personal Care - Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, toileting, and dressing.

  • Meal Preparation - Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and preferences and assist with feeding when necessary.

  • Social and Emotional Support - Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging with the young people we support in meaningful activities and conversations. You will act as an appropriate role model for young people, address any difficulties and help them to achieve their optimum potential.

  • Documentation - Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided, daily observations, and any changes in individuals conditions.

  • Dignity and Respect - Ensure that all interactions with the individuals are conducted with the utmost respect, preserving their dignity, privacy, and choice.

  • Independence and Empowerment - Promote and support individuals in maintaining their independence and self-esteem.

  • Work in multidisciplinary teams - Monitor and report changes in individuals' health or well-being to the care manager or healthcare professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of the individuals we support.

    Valid driving licence and a vehicle

  • Previous experience in domiciliary care or a children and young people related field

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable and flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

    Pay starting at £11.51 per hour increasing after probation

  • Enhanced pay on evenings, weekends and public holidays

  • Desirable Requirements:
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
