Social Work Resource Assistant

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Social Work Resource Assistant, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., This post is required to provide support to Social Workers and Managers across Adult Services. This will require working within current legislation and following Council policies, procedures and practice

On a day-to-day basis, this will involve:

Communicating with service users or their representatives
Liaising with Social Workers, Team Managers, Service Users, Families, GPs and other providers
Updating and maintaining client database
Monitoring and managing outlook mailbox
Responsibilities:

To assist with the incoming calls from service users or their representatives as part of the duty process signposting and/or passing on relevant information to social workers
To support teams and managers with updating, maintaining social work pending /allocation lists/screening/locality/Legal spreadsheets and provide statistical information as required
To maintain and manage Adult Services outlook mailboxes as required
To monitor Business Support Team Carefirst desktop requests
Coordinate and book screening appointments, send appointment letters, book meeting rooms, follow up support documentation

Experience of dealing with the public
Experience of Microsoft Office including excel and outlook
Experience of working to Legislative / Corporate procedures, processes and guidelines
