Full Job Description

The Health & Wellbeing Centre is looking for an energetic and experienced Individual to join the Medical Team at Clifton College.

Reporting to the Head of Medical Health & Welfare, you will be responsible for providing immediate care to pupils at the pitch side during Michaelmas games practices, internal rugby matches and football and hockey matches in Lent. As well as occasional cover in the summer term.The schedule involves evening and weekend hours at varying sites. You will work closely and collaboratively with the Directors and Heads of Sport, Coaches, the Health Centre Nursing team, house staff and external providers.

The role is full time, 37.5 hours a week, with a requirement to work weekends as per service need.

This is a term time plus role of 37 weeks, made up of 34 weeks term time and 3 weeks outside of term for workforce planning, CPD and attendance at away fixtures on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

Provide immediate care to pupils on the pitch side during Michaelmas games practices, internal rugby matches and football and hockey matches in Lent. The schedule involves evening and weekend hours at varying sites.

Provide first aid for Clifton College and visiting pupils, during sports fixtures, with the assistance of the coaches and paramedics, physiotherapists, sports therapists and nurses where available and required.

Ensure that first aid and immediate care equipment are regularly checked, maintained and replenished at both Sports Medical team bases situated in the Fives on the main site and the Imlay at Beggar Bush Sports Ground.

Work autonomously triaging, assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute injuries. Determine when x-rays and further advanced assessment and care is required.

Comply at all times with medical ethics and international human rights law and ensure that valid consent is obtained before starting physical investigation or treatment and communicating findings and outcomes.

Educate and provide information for pupils/families/carers to improve their knowledge and promote health & wellbeing.
