Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Structural Designer to bring innovation and precision to our team! As a Structural Designer, you will be at the heart of our design process, working closely with our Design Manager to turn customer visions into reality. Your role will involve generating precise CAD files that meet product specifications and machine capabilities. You will also have the opportunity to interact directly with customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. The role: - Liaise with the Design Manager to ensure customer requirements are clearly defined - Generate CAD files that meet product specifications and machine capabilities in response to customer briefs - Communicate directly with customers to ensure designs meet their needs - Supply keylines to customers and the Sales Office, advising on any technical issues - Conduct
manufacture approval to ensure designs are commercially viable before samples are dispatched to customers - Collaborate with production crews to ensure correct machine routing and eliminate potential die-cut/gluing issues - Take briefs from customers or sales representatives and output to the correct requirements. - Raise specifications on Abaca for commercial costing - Cut samples as necessary and ensure all samples are dispatched in line with customers' required due dates - Create output files for the Sales Office for tool ordering - Conduct material checks on customer existing packaging to ensure the correct specification is used - Stay updated with machine limitations and ensure they are considered for future jobs - Update the business system to show completion at all stages of the process and communicate with relevant stakeholders - Work towards completion of all objectives set within the PDR process each year

Ability to interpret technical documentation such as structural drawings and artworks - Familiarity with FEFCO styles, machine routings, and material compositions - Team player willing to drive other staff in delivering the customer's requirements - Highly motivated and flexible to deal with constantly changing demands in a fast-paced production environment - Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload - Confidence and ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal formats with internal staff, customers, and external suppliers - Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, ABACA, AGCAD
