Full Job Description

To represent the Community Learning Disability Team with contracted service providers, in overseeing the operational function and development of accommodation services for adults with a learning disability. This includes:

  • Development of the service in accordance with the principles of co-production and collaboration with citizens, staff, and key stakeholders.


  • Monitor and evaluate all aspects of the service, in collaboration with colleagues in Resource Management and Safeguarding; Contracts and Commissioning Team to ensure compliance with the Supported Accommodation Contract.


  • In collaboration with the Team Manager and Business Improvement Officer, develop robust data collection systems to evidence future housing needs of people with a learning disability.


  • To work with the Business Improvement Officer to produce an annual report evidencing current and future need.


  • To develop links and negotiate with other relevant internal and external agencies, partners and specialists in the provision and development of accommodation services and to exchange information regarding service developments elsewhere.

    You will need:

  • Knowledge of partnership working with other organisations.

  • Able to demonstrate strength-based practice.

  • Knowledge of Inspection and Regulatory processes and how they apply to Accommodation Services

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation

  • Good written and verbal skills

  • Ability to collate and present information

  • Computer/digital literate

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to prioritise work

  • Excellent communication skills

  • QCF level 5 qualification or equivalent.

    You will be part of the Vale of Glamorgan Learning Disability Team who are collocated and joint work with health colleagues from Swansea Bay who deliver specialist LD support to citizens of the Vale of Glamorgan on behalf of Cardiff and the Vale UHB.
